What is Bitcoin and the distributed ledger technology (Blockchain)? Peter's presentation will explain this and give a history and timeline as well as cover the following:
- Overview of the Cryptocurrency ecosystem or the main cryptocurrencies
- Key applications and use cases of Blockchain technologies in finance, banking and other industries
- Advantages for banks to use distributed ledger technologies for interbank settlements, forex and KYC/AML benefits, etc.
- Bitcoin in B2B and B2C - Merchant adoption of bitcoin and reduction of fraud risk.
- Possible future use cases of Cryptocurrencies and the evolution of Blockchain technologies

Peter is a Certified Bitcoin Professional of the Crypto Currency Certification Consortium and is currently obtaining his MSc. Finance and working on obtaining a CAMS license in order to be able to assist startups and established companies thrive and grow in the current challenging environment of financial regulations. Peter has also worked as the Operations and Business Development Manager for CAVIRTEX. CAVIRTEX was one of the first Canadian Bitcoin exchanges and they were recently bought out by a U.S. company called Coinsetter.
