More than ever, conducting business between borders is more fluid. Even so, companies operating in different countries must deal with the unique challenges of each market. This session explores the challenges faced by many businesses and evaluates international payment trends and best practices. It will outline current and future trends in international payments, including the role ISO20022 will play as an enabler for more efficient international payments. It will also include a real-world example of an organization’s challenges and successes when implementing an international payment strategy.
Clint Whitworth is a Senior Product Manager for North American Payments products having first joined the product team in 2002. In this role, Clint has responsibility for strategy, product development, execution, and sales management for various cross-border payments products, including ACH, IAT, EFT, EDI, Bill Payment, and payment fraud controls. Clint’s mandate is to deliver innovative products that drive client results and efficiencies, while breaking down borders and driving revenue growth.
Prior to this role, he enjoyed a role as Service Governance Manager within the Bank of Montreal Technology Service and Application Support team. Clint was responsible to ensure efficient, reliable, and available technology service delivery to business partners. Through this role, Clint was responsible for working with the Senior Technology Officers for Treasury and Payment Services to develop and deliver a dedicated Technology and Enterprise Infrastructure team dedicated to the support of the Treasury & Payment Solutions department. This included mapping a creating end to end processing flows for improved process and performance management and automated alert monitoring services.
Clint started with BMO Financial Group in 2001, in the Corporate Electronic Banking Services Implementation team. In this role, Clint was responsible for project managing the implementation of treasury services for customers, including set up and training of customers and staff to the services utilized with BMO.
Since 2008, Clint actively represents Bank of Montreal on various Canadian Payments Association committees including the Automated Funds Transfer, EDI and Computer Services Network Sub-Committees, as well as the Canadian Bill Payment Task Force, Pre-Authorized Debit Working Group, and with the CPA ISO adoption activities, Clint represents Bank of Montreal on the CPA ISO AFT Working Group, EDI ISO Working Group and the Strategic Advisory Group for ISO 20022.
Prior to joining BMO Financial Group, Clint worked for Elections Canada for the Toronto Rosedale office, coordinating the maintenance of the voter registration list, public communications and administration of electoral voting stations.
Clint is a graduate of York University with a Bachelor of Pure and Applied Science in psychology.
