Join us for a dynamic in-person panel discussion featuring leaders in investment banking, private equity, legal advisory, and corporate integration. This session will walk through the lifecycle of a transaction — from vendor due diligence to post-merger integration — with a focus on the Treasury, Finance, and FP&A functions that are critical to deal success.

Attendees will gain actionable insights into:

Senior Vice President, Investment Banking – KPMG Corporate Finance

Dan Gardiner leads KPMG’s Software & Technology investment banking team for Western Canada, where he advises entrepreneurs, private equity investors, and growth-stage companies on mergers, acquisitions, capital raises, and strategic exits. His transaction experience spans a range of sectors including vertical market software, fintech, eCommerce, and video gaming.

Dan was named to BC Business’s Top 30 Under 30 in 2025 and recognized as ACG BC’s Rising Star Dealmaker of the Year in 2023. He’s known for his analytical approach, strong client relationships, and ability to guide founder-led businesses through complex, high-stakes transactions.

He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designations and placed in the top 1% nationally on the CPA Common Final Exam, earning the CPABC Valedictorian title.

He advises a diverse client base — including public companies, private equity funds, family offices, and institutional investors — on high-value transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, growth equity investments, and reorganizations.

Andrew’s transactional experience spans key Canadian industries such as insurance, energy, mining, forestry, food & beverage, and technology. In addition to executing deals, he provides clients with ongoing governance and structuring advice to support long-term growth and compliance.

Known for his practical, business-first approach, Andrew frequently leads legal workstreams in complex, multi-stakeholder transactions and works closely with finance teams throughout the deal cycle.

Avery Holland

Avery Holland is a Principal at Krystal Growth Partners, a Vancouver-based private equity firm that invests in and supports the growth of Western Canada’s middle-market businesses. With over 13 years of experience across private equity, investment banking, and operations, Avery brings a hands-on, relationship-oriented approach to investing.

She works closely with management teams to guide strategic transitions, enable succession planning, and accelerate value creation. Her experience spans industries such as industrials, consumer products, manufacturing, and business services.

Avery also serves as a Director on the board of the Association for Corporate Growth, BC chapter, and is active in the regional M&A ecosystem.

Patrick Lau, CFA, CPA, CTP, FPAC

Director, Corporate Finance & Treasury Planning – Factors Group of Nutritional Companies Inc.

Patrick Lau is a senior finance leader with over 20 years of experience spanning Corporate Finance, Treasury, FP&A, and Corporate Development. At Factors Group, a global health and wellness company, Patrick leads strategic finance initiatives, capital planning, liquidity management, and transaction execution.

Patrick has deep expertise in both the analytical and operational sides of finance, having worked in publicly traded environments, private enterprises, and cross-border structures. His specialties include debt structuring, financial modeling, M&A integration planning, and enterprise performance management.

He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designations, the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), and the FPAC credentials from the Association for Financial Professionals. Patrick is also a graduate of the Harvard Business Analytics Program at Harvard Business School.

Passionate about advancing the finance profession, Patrick currently serves as Vice President and Board Member of AFP Vancouver, where he’s been an active contributor to the Treasury and Corporate Finance community since 2019.
