AFP Vancouver is delighted to have Lise Godbout, Judy Li and Ryan Grundy from Payments Canada provide thought leadership regarding the evolution of current payments systems, specifically Retail Batch, LYNX, and the implementation of the ISO 20022 Standard. Joining them will be Jas Anand of Ernst and Young who will augment the discussion by speaking to the principles of Risk Management and safeguarding of financial assets.

Lise is leading the Financial Market Risk Team at Payments Canada. She is responsible for ensuring our payment systems observe the Bank of Canada’s Risk Management Standards for Designated Financial Market Infrastructures. She is also responsible for maintaining financial risk frameworks for our existing systems and developing financial risk frameworks for new systems supplemented by monitoring and reporting systems and participants’ financial market risks. She brings 25 years of experience in the financial services including experience in treasury, liquidity, and central counterparty.
Judy Li is the Director of Information Management, Data Analytics, and ISO at Payments Canada. Judy is responsible for the organization, governance, and analytic usage of payments data, as well as the development and implementation of ISO 20022 messages used in the payments systems and advocates for industry wide adoption.
Prior to joining Payments Canada, Judy led the software development and quality assurance teams in various industries.
Ryan Grundy has a passion for payments and people and is currently Lead, Industry Relations with Payments Canada. He is responsible for direct engagement with industry participants to help shape the modernization of Canada’s core clearing and settlement and exchange infrastructure, and to raise awareness, drive advocacy and enable readiness for adoption of Payments Canada's Modernization platforms. Ryan has more than 20 years' experience in relationship management in the Retail Banking, Wealth Management, and Payments space with Canadian chartered Financial Institutions, and is motivated by the desire to create alignment between Payments Canada and players in the Canadian Payments ecosystem to deliver a best-in-class payments experience for all Canadians
Jas Anand is an Associate Partner in EY’s risk management practice and has over 20 years of fraud risk management experience working with several of the largest financial institutions globally. Jas is a trusted advisor to the Canadian market with proven accomplishments in maturing fraud programs. Jas focuses on business development and strategic planning in designing and maturing fraud programs capabilities such as: fraud operating models; fraud risk assessments; fraud analytics; fraud operations; client communication and training.
