AFP Vancouver - Membership Types

AFP Vancouver offers several membership categories to support professionals across the treasury, finance, and banking community.

Below you’ll find clear definitions to help you choose the membership that best fits your background.

1. Practitioner Member

For corporate finance and treasury professionals
Practitioner Members are individuals working within an organization (corporation, government, Crown corporation, or not-for-profit) in roles related to:

  • Treasury & cash management
  • Corporate finance / FP&A
  • Accounting & reporting
  • Corporate banking (on the corporate side)
  • Risk management
  • Investments & liquidity

Typical titles include:
Treasury Analyst or Manager, Controller, Director/VP Finance, Cash Manager, FP&A Manager, Risk Manager, or public-sector finance roles.

Voting Eligibility: Yes (Voting Member)

2. Banker & Service Provider Member

For financial institutions and service partners
This category is for professionals working in:

  • Banks, credit unions, and financial institutions
  • Advisory or consulting firms
  • Treasury technology, payments, fintech, investment, insurance, tax, or legal service providers
  • Any organization providing products or services to treasury/finance teams

Members must have at least one year of relevant industry experience.

Voting Eligibility: Yes (Voting Member)

Corporate Bundle (Banker & Service Provider Tier)

Five (5) transferable seats for one organization Financial institutions and service providers may purchase a Corporate Membership Package that includes up to five transferable individual seats. All seat holders are classified as Banker & Service Provider Members.

How It Works

  • One seat is assigned to a Primary Member (main contact).
  • Up to four (4) additional seats may be assigned or reassigned to employees of the same organization at any time.
  • Seat holders enjoy full member benefits, including discounted event pricing and voting rights (if eligible).
  • Seats cannot be transferred to individuals outside the organization.

Requirements

  • The organization must be based in Canada.
  • A Corporate Administrator (recommended) manages seat assignments.
  • Changes must be communicated to AFP Vancouver (2–5 business days).

Event Access

  • Only assigned seat holders may register at member pricing.
  • Seats may be rotated for different events by submitting updated names prior to registration.

3. Student Member

For full-time students pursuing a future in finance Student Membership is available to full-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in programs such as:

  • Business Administration
  • Finance or Accounting
  • Economics
  • Commerce
  • Data analytics / FinTech

Students must provide annual proof of enrollment (student ID, course registration, or enrollment letter).

Voting Eligibility: No (Non-Voting Member)
